Corey Dion Lewis spent eight years as a clinical health coach inside a safety net hospital — the kind of place where the gap between the healthcare system and the people it’s supposed to serve shows up every single day. That gap didn’t discourage him. It became his life’s work.
His understanding of population health isn’t academic. It’s personal. When his mother’s health began to decline, Corey moved her in so he could advocate for her directly. What he witnessed — the way inequities in care erode trust, and the way the right support rebuilds it — changed how he sees everything.
That experience sparked a mission: to use storytelling as a tool for systems change. Today, Corey speaks, creates, and podcasts at the intersection of community health, health equity, and the human stories that data alone will never tell.
